Video: Does Brad Keselowski title signal a new era in NASCAR?
Does Brad Keselowski's first NASCAR championship signal a new era? CineSport's Brian Clark & The NASCAR Wire Service's Reid Spencer discuss this and what went wrong for Jimmie Johnson on Sunday.
If the "new era" means increased interest and attendance combined with more realistic views on the part of NASCAR, then maybe it does. However, if a turn-around in the attitude and creativity on the part of NASCAR is not forthcoming, there may not be many more championships and there will be more people collecting those unemployment checks.
No, it doesn't. There won't be increased interest and attendance until the racing improves and the culture of the sport - a culture obsessed with promoting the Brand, personality, and the technology arms race - change. The sport needs to be about racing and nothing else.
