Ryan Newman, Kyle Larson to headline 'Stocks for Tots' on Tuesday

NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers Ryan Newman, who finished in the series championship this season, and rookie of the year Kyle Larson will be among the drivers headlining the 2014 Stocks-for-Tots event on Tuesday night at the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, N.C.

Stocks for Tots raises money to support Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children, supporting parents and improving the community. The event was created 26 years ago by the N.C. Auto Racing Hall of Fame as a way to bring together stock car racing and its fans to assist SCAN in preventing and treating child abuse and neglect.

Since 1989, the event has raised more than $1 million and collected more than 50,000 toys to aide raising awareness for child abuse in North Carolina. Among the drivers attending this season are Newman, Larson, the "First Lady of Drag Racing" Shirley Muldowney, Dale Jarrett, Bobby Allison, Leonard Wood, Rex White, Max Papis, Cody Darrah and Ryan Blaney, among others.

Attendees of this year’s fundraiser can participate in autograph sessions, a silent auction, a visit by Santa and a chance to take a picture in the 1966 Batmobile replica. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase items from the Stocks-For-Tots memorabilia store, including autographed sheet metal, wheels, and crew shirts donated by several NASCAR teams.

The Stocks For Tots fundraiser will begin at 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Dec. 9 and will end at 9 p.m. A cash donation of $10 and a new unwrapped toy with a $10 value will be required for admission. A “shop only” wrist band is available for $10.

The NASCAR Institute is located at 220 Byers Creek Road in Mooresville, NC 28117. Wristbands, needed for autographs, will go on sale the day of the event at the N.C. Auto Racing Hall of Fame located at 119 Knob Hill Road in Mooresville, N.C. from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. or at the NASCAR Technical Institute beginning at 4:30 p.m.
