Reutimann won't be back at MWR

David Reutimann will not return as driver of Michael Waltrip Racing's No. 00 Toyota in the 2012 Sprint Cup Series season, The Observer and ThatsRacin.com have learned.

MWR has scheduled an announcement for Friday morning at Texas Motor Speedway in which it is expected to announce Reutimann's departure and the addition of veteran Mark Martin in 2012, multiple sources said Tuesday.

Martin is expected to run a partial schedule in 2012, with team owner Michael Waltrip likely doing the season's four restrictor-plate races, sources said.

It is likely the sponsorship money originally devoted to any additional races not run by Martin will instead be directed to the team of driver Clint Bowyer, who is joining the organization in 2012, sources said.

Reached in Las Vegas by ESPN.com, Reutimann directed questions about future to team owner Waltrip.

Now in his fourth full-time season, Reutimann has two Cup wins, 12 top-five and 25 top-10 finishes in 168 starts. He has also won four poles.

A MWR spokesman reached Tuesday said he had no comment on the report.
